Domestic and sexual violence are tragically prevalent in our communities, but providing survivors with basic items gives them a sense of dignity which is crucial in rebuilding their lives.

Dartmouth Health’s Task Force on Human Trafficking, Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence recently collected household and personal items to be donated to community members impacted by sexual and domestic violence. The items were collected at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics locations in Manchester, Nashua, Bedford and Concord.

Donations were made throughout the month of April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Requested items included health and hygiene products, paper products, cleaning supplies, children’s toys, baby supplies, bedding, and gift cards for gas stations and various retailers.

Dartmouth Health employees collected about 15 boxes and bags worth of items to be donated to individuals in need.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of our employees who contributed to this drive,” said Eric J. Stanley, MSW, LICSW, a social worker with Dartmouth Health’s Employee Assistance Program and member of the task force, who helped to organized the effort. “Domestic and sexual violence are tragically prevalent in our communities, but providing survivors with basic items gives them a sense of dignity which is crucial in rebuilding their lives.”
