Donating blood is one of the greatest gifts you can give and you can support local businesses and earn rewards when you donate!
Every time you donate blood, platelets, or plasma at the Blood Donor Program, you earn points! Points are redeemable for rewards from local businesses. For example, you can earn gift cards to Irving, various local restaurants, the Norwich Bookstore, Scratch Supply Co., West Lebanon Feed & Supply, LaValley Building Supply, the Co-op Food Stores, and many more. By donating blood, you help build a sustainable blood supply for our community, support local businesses, and earn great prizes.
Here's how it works
How do I become a member of the Donor Rewards Program?
You can create an online account about 48 hours after your donation. If you haven’t donated yet, go ahead and schedule an appointment online or contact us.
How do I earn points?
- Just by creating an account, you earn 25 points.
- Earn 10 points every time you schedule and keep an appointment made online.
- Whole blood donation earns you 200 points.
- Plasma donation earns you 150 points.
- Single platelet donation earns you 200 points.
- Double platelet donation earns you 300 points.
- Triple platelet donation earns you 400 points.
- Occasionally, double points are offered as a special bonus.
Can I still earn points if I attempt to donate but am deferred?
Yes. If you attempt to donate and are deferred, you still earn 25 points.
Do my points expire?
Yes. If you do not donate, or attempt to donate, in a period of 6 months your points will expire.
How soon after my donation will my points appear?
Your points should appear within 72 hours after your donation.
How do I redeem my points?
When you log in to your account, you will be brought to a welcome page. To redeem your points, choose the “online store” icon in the center of the page. There are various local businesses that you can redeem your rewards with. The number of points you have available to redeem will be shown at the top of the page (above the icons). Choose one of the business icons to redeem your rewards.
When should I expect my reward after I redeem my points?
Physical gift cards can take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive. E-cards should arrive in your email within 2 weeks.
Can I transfer my points to someone else?
No. These points are one of the ways that we thank you for saving lives through your donation.
Can I give points back to the program or donate them to a non-profit?
Yes. You can donate points to several local non-profit organizations in increments of 50 points. Every 1,000 points is a $25 donation to the organization.
