Grains and starches

  • Crackers
  • Pancakes
  • Waffles
  • White rice
  • White pasta
  • Egg noodles
  • Instant oatmeal
  • Soft whole wheat bread/pasta/pancakes
  • Breads made with bran, seeds, nuts, whole grains, or dried fruits
  • Any cereals made with whole grain, bran, granola, seeds, or dried fruit
  • Polenta
  • Buckwheat
  • Bulgur
  • Barley
  • Wheat berries
  • Quinoa
  • Whole grain rice
  • Brown rice
  • Popcorn

Vegetables

  • Thoroughly cooked vegetables
  • Raw or al-dente (cooked but still firm) vegetables
