Our Occupational Medicine team is trained and certified in the performance of standard and specialized pre-placement and fitness exams, for example for pilots and drivers of commercial motor vehicles.

Our team also provides testing, evaluation, and management of employees with work performance and/or impairment concerns that may interfere with their ability to safely perform job duties, including medical or psychological concerns or substance abuse issues.

Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals

All interstate commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers are required to have a valid medical certificate signed by a healthcare provider who is registered with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME), and has been certified as having the knowledge to determine if a driver can safely perform the physical demands of driving a CMV.

Our Occupational & Environmental Medicine provides DOT physicals for businesses and individuals at convenient locations in Concord, Lebanon, Nashua, and Manchester. With easy access from the highway, these facilities also offer adequate parking for large trucks and tractor-trailers.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) physicals and support

Several of our Occupational and Environmental medicine physicians are FAA-authorized aviation medical examiners and certified to perform Class 1, 2, and 3 FAA physicals and other services.

MedXPress

  • Since 2012, the Federal Air Surgeon has required the use of MedXPress for all FAA exams.
  • Pilots must submit a MedXPress web application with their medical certification information (Items 1 to 20) on FAA Form 8500-8.
  • Pilots need only a valid email address to create a MedXPress account, which should be completed prior to the appointment for the physical.

HIMS

HIMS is an occupational substance abuse treatment program that coordinates the identification, treatment, and returns to work process for affected commercial pilots.
