The Trauma Program provides care when you come through the Emergency Department and require immediate treatment of injuries. After we provide initial care, our team continues to attend to your critical care and specialized needs.
Our Trauma Program is a leading program in the treatment and care of your injuries. We serve as the tertiary referral center for complex trauma patients throughout Northern New England.
Transferring patients
Health care professionals, if your hospital needs to transfer a patient to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, please refer to the Trauma for Professionals website.
Our program is the only trauma center in New Hampshire to earn a Level One Trauma Center verification signifying that our physicians, nurses, and administrators provide the highest level of injury care.
We work closely with DHART (Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team), which provides ground and air medical transportation services to the medical communities of Northern New England.
In addition to providing health care, we offer education and resources for parents, children, and professionals to prevent deaths and disability due to injuries. For more information, please refer to the Injury Prevention Center on the Dartmouth Health Children's website.
