Outreach rounds are offered to our CREST members as lectures on demand. The topics requested by our members are offered in a teleconferencing format and highlight best practices and protocols.
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC)'s quality assurance teams in surgery, trauma, stroke, and STEMI, among others are consulted to obtain their perspective on the problems faced in treating rural transfer patients and participate in the formulation of best practices and transfer protocols.
Outreach Rounds allow front-line providers to consult directly with DHMC specialists, and allow specialists to discuss best practices in much the same way as medical teams do in conventional hospital rounds.
Different specialists are invited to lead discussions of selected topics important to rural emergency and trauma care. Topics are selected to meet the requests and needs of rural providers. Outreach rounds may offer CME credit to participants.
